American Rancher Episode Addresses Staying Profitable through Challenges

Little things can add up to big differences, especially when those differences are in your bottom line. That is the message shared by Steve Howard, Howard Ranches in Oklahoma. Howard Ranches along with Thaler Land and Livestock in Wyoming, will be featured on RFD- TV’s American Rancher in June, talking about how the Vita Charge® program powered by Amaferm® has made a difference in their bottom line.

“Vita Charge has helped us run more cattle through faster. As soon as we started using it, the cattle went to the bunks faster and would eat more. They started gaining from day one,” Howard said. His family runs 15,000 stockers a year.

With weaning and receiving as two of the most stressful times in a calf’s life, BioZyme® Inc., developed the Vita Charge program to help get calves off to a good start and remain healthier.

“Stress on cattle effects their immune system. It is better to be preventative in their care than reactionary,” said John Jeffrey, BioZyme Feedlot-Stocker Business Development Manager.

At Thaler Land & Livestock, they run 1,500 mother cows and background 1,000 calves each year before sending them to the feedlot. Raising healthy, efficient calves, as well as saving money and labor on doctoring is important to this multi-generation ranch, which is why they have chosen the Vita Charge program.
